The Veoci team had a great time at this year’s IAEM Annual Conference & EMEX in Long Beach, CA!
Although the IAEM conference may have wrapped up, our minds are still abuzz with all things emergency management. We had the opportunity to talk face-to-face with real people who use our virtual EOC software and those who are on the lookout for efficient solutions for everything from disaster recovery to BCP. On November 15th and 16th, GridEx, a biennial event, will be taking place. Representatives from the North American utility industry, as well as various regional and federal agencies, will take part in simulated emergencies to test their response plans. This year, three separate drills will be put forth to test each organization’s response plans, see how they interact with others involved in the general response, and identify areas for improvement.
Having a response specific to each emergency scenario can spell a massive difference in both the handling of the event and in the recovery. The emergencies that affect the utility industry fall into two very distinct categories: physical and cyber. Different and well thought-out responses for each scenario are needed – preparedness for both situations is critical. GridEx provides a way to test these responses. Continue reading
UVA Health System’s medical center was a mile away from where the violence broke out during the Charlottesville protests in August of this year. We had a chance to speak with Emergency Management Coordinator Robert Truoccolo, CEM, about how the hospital utilized Veoci in their emergency response.
When reflecting on August 12, UVA Health System knew that reliable real-time communication and recording an accurate timeline of everything that happened during their response would be absolute necessities, and found Veoci’s capabilities up to the task.
“[Veoci] has been leaps and bounds ahead of what we had been doing.”

The Veoci team is proud to unveil our brand new logo! As we grow and expand as a company, we found it appropriate that our logo and branding evolve with us. We did not want to stray too far from our original “V” design, but certainly wanted to give a more modern flare. A special thank you to our Co-Founder and resident graphic designer, Ken Moon, for putting his time and creativity into the new design.
Ken constructed the new logo with some special symbolism in mind. Upon first glance, many people see in our logo the shape of a shield or a heart. This was on purpose. Our company, a small but rapidly growing family, has a lot of heart as our team puts passion and dedication into everything that we do. And of course, a shield symbolizes the protection and security that we strive to give all of our customers as they rely on our product to keep their communities and organizations safe.
Keep an eye out for the new logo as it begins to appear on the Veoci platform, website and materials. The new logo is just one of the many exciting new developments at Veoci. Stay tuned for more!
